River Refresh Stations

Generous warm 24" x 12" size wipe, infused with our all-natural blend of organic aloe vera, witch hazel, and peppermint for a refreshing tingly clean. Wipe and enjoy a head-to-toe refresh. Unique to Floatery.

Walk to town

Wake up on the banks of the Dan River and walk to downtown Madison's local restaurants, shops and breweries. No long drives, no hassle. Just the river at night and the town in the morning.

PRIMITIVE CAMPING
Our secluded primitive campsites are nestled deep in pristine wilderness, far from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Perfect for truly unplugging and reconnecting with nature, we offer a variety of sites to fit your group — from intimate spots for 2 people to spacious sites accommodating up to 10 campers. Each site is thoughtfully placed to give you a peaceful, rustic experience surrounded by trees, with many offering beautiful river frontage. While you’re immersed in nature, modern conveniences and local charm are just a short drive over the bridge. Grab essentials at the nearby Dollar General, enjoy a craft beer at the local brewery, or explore the charming downtown area with its unique shops and restaurants.

Internal Sites $20 per person per night.
River Front sites: $30 per person per night

SKY TENTS
We are a registered Tentsile Campground due to our remote location among many large trees along the banks of the Dan River in Madison, NC. The Tentsile is a floating “tree tent,” and is the only 3+ person hammock-style shelter on the market that we would use. The shelter has three main tie-outs that meet in the center. The design is centered around a triangle base. You may be thinking, oh gosh we all are going to sag in the middle, of course not. Tentsile prevents center sag in how they created the intersection of the tie-outs and the triangle base. All three occupants have their own geometric “hammocks” to sleep in. The main entrance to the shelter is from a triangular hatch at the bottom. On one long edge, there is a zippered door/window sewn into the bug netting that can also be used for access into the shelter. The Stingray comes with an integrated bug netting and a rain fly, which makes it ideal for Riverside Camping.

FLOATING TENTS
You’ve gotta try this – tubing down the Dan River by day, then sleeping in a tent on the water by night! Jason Adkins

A proud native of Mayodan, North Carolina, is our beloved camp host at Floatery. With a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors, Jason spends his days ensuring campers feel at home, sharing his extensive knowledge of the local trails and hidden gems of the surrounding areas. An avid fisherman, he’s often found casting a line in the Dan River, where he’s earned a reputation for reeling in some of the nicest catches and swapping stories with fellow anglers. Known for his warm smile and easygoing nature, Jason loves teaching people how to tie fishing knots and roasting marshmallows with families around the campfire. When he’s not tending to the campground, he’s tinkering with his vintage RV or exploring new fishing spots..
